Tapping into trending, viral moments. Hosting brainstorms that were just a little bit unhinged. Creating culturally relevant content on the fly. As creative partners to our organic social team, we took social seriously (but not too seriously) and helped them gain traction, engagement, and reach in a smart and nerdy way.

Product integration
We wanted to spotlight the financial tips, tools, and overall expertise of our Nerds, minus all the yawning that usually comes with that. So we found relatable ways in with our audience — like memes, GIFs, and a casual tone of voice, and used them to break down financial topics in a fun and entertaining way.
Consumer empathy
Using both timeless and trending meme templates (as well as our own wit and humor), we created posts that commented on the relatable financial moments of everyday life, positioning NerdWallet as a brand that will commiserate with you on the bad, congratulate you on the good, and make you laugh through both.
News and culture
We jumped into trending conversations by connecting the dots between viral moments in pop culture and financial topics — which usually produced some pretty amazing memes.
